‘This Gathering Has Been Declared as to Be an Unlawful Assembly’
Police in Charlottesville, Virginia have just ordered thousands of white supremacists to vacate Emancipation Park after violent clashes repeatedly broke out. Up to six thousand white supremacists, white nationalists, Nazis, Neo-Nazis, Neo-Confederates, and members of the so-called “alt-right” from across the country have been massing in the park to protest the town’s scheduled removal of a Confederate statue of Robert E. Lee.Â
Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe has declared a state of emergency, ordering the event shut down, as did City of Charlotte officials.
“This gathering has been declared as to be an unlawful assembly; in the name of the Commonwealth, you are commanded to immediately disperse; if you do not disperse immediately you will be arrested,†law enforcement officers announced.

There are now thousands of white supremacists, many of whom have traveled long distances to attend the rally, roaming the streets.
Some, especially militias members, are armed.
Violence has marked the demonstrations since thew white supremacists gathered Friday night. Hundreds marched on the University of Virginia Grounds, sparking violent clashes with students.
