Breitbart Writer, Entire World, Shocked She Got Fired for Anti-Muslim Tweets

Vile, Disgusting, Bigoted Writer Fired by Vile, Disgusting, Bigoted Website

Before he became White House Senior Advisor, Steve Bannon was the publisher of the far right wing website Breitbart. Months before Donald Trump was elected, Bannon infamously bragged his extremist site is “the platform for the alt-right.”

Breitbart is a combination of racism, homophobia, misogyny, Islamophobia, and when Barack Obama was president, birtherism. So it was surprising that Sunday, a few Breitbart employees reportedly complained that Breitbart writer Katie McHugh’s tweets about Saturday’s terror attack on London went too far.

A sampling of those tweets:

CNN on Sunday reported several Breitbart employees were angered.

“I find it appalling,” one Breitbart employee told CNN.

“It’s a terrible comment,” another Breitbart employee told CNN, saying it was wrong to make a blanket statement about an entire religious group. “I would never write what she said.”

A third Breitbart employee described the comments as “dumb.”

The level of extremism on the Breitbart site cannot be ignored, and it is made even worse by may of the comments readers leave. CNN Money reported, “It was not clear if Ryan Saavedra, a Breitbart writer who called for the return of the crusades after the London terror attack, was also still with the company.”

So many were surprised when McHugh tweeted Monday Breitbart fired her, as CNN also reported:

Raw Story looked up some of McHugh’s earlier tweets. A sampling:

ThinkProgress explained it this way: “McHugh is too racist even by the standards of ‘the platform for the alt-right.'”
