Breitbart Writer, Entire World, Shocked She Got Fired for Anti-Muslim Tweets
Vile, Disgusting, Bigoted Writer Fired by Vile, Disgusting, Bigoted Website
Before he became White House Senior Advisor, Steve Bannon was the publisher of the far right wing website Breitbart. Months before Donald Trump was elected, Bannon infamously bragged his extremist site is “the platform for the alt-right.”Â
Breitbart is a combination of racism, homophobia, misogyny, Islamophobia, and when Barack Obama was president, birtherism. So it was surprising that Sunday, a few Breitbart employees reportedly complained that Breitbart writer Katie McHugh’s tweets about Saturday’s terror attack on London went too far.
A sampling of those tweets:
There would be no deadly terror attacks in the U.K. if Muslims didn’t live there. #LondonBridge

Diversity is strength! It’s also getting run over by a truck b/c you haven’t converted to Islam yet. https://t.co/GUrKkRwZG0 #LondonBridge

Muslims slaughtered 2,996 victims on 9/11, injured thousands more. Destroyed the Twin Towers, struck the Pentagon. #LondonBridge https://t.co/25cw7GcLyI

Press one for English, and two for fewer Muslim terror attacks. #LondonBridge https://t.co/Ydbr2QVCa2

How many more people need to die because Muslims find it convenient to migrate to Europe? #LondonBridge
— Katie McHugh🇺🇸 (@k_mcq) June 3, 2017
Virtue-signaling aside, liberals don’t believe Muslim migration makes the UK better. If they did, they’d live in no-go zones. #LondonBridge https://t.co/RIn7xtwlxJ

CNN on Sunday reported several Breitbart employees were angered.
“I find it appalling,” one Breitbart employee told CNN.Â
“It’s a terrible comment,” another Breitbart employee told CNN, saying it was wrong to make a blanket statement about an entire religious group. “I would never write what she said.”Â
A third Breitbart employee described the comments as “dumb.”
The level of extremism on the Breitbart site cannot be ignored, and it is made even worse by may of the comments readers leave. CNN Money reported, “It was not clear if Ryan Saavedra, a Breitbart writer who called for the return of the crusades after the London terror attack, was also still with the company.”Â
So many were surprised when McHugh tweeted Monday Breitbart fired her, as CNN also reported:
Breitbart News fired me for telling the truth about Islam and Muslim immigration. https://t.co/IRAUOj6pIL #LondonBridge

Raw Story looked up some of McHugh’s earlier tweets. A sampling:
Dear illegal aliens:
Our country, lands, heritage & taxpayer $ don’t belong to you.
Go home.
Sincerely,
America https://t.co/1snHxITI5i— Katie McHugh🇺🇸 (@k_mcq) September 17, 2015
Indian tribes never bothered to build any kind of civilization. They killed each other and chased bison. Yawn~ https://t.co/U0B0lAPqqq

Funny how Europeans assimilated, unlike Third Worlders demanding welfare while raping, killing Americans. https://t.co/n1iqggqlwb
— Katie McHugh🇺🇸 (@k_mcq) September 17, 2015
ThinkProgress explained it this way: “McHugh is too racist even by the standards of ‘the platform for the alt-right.'”
Some responses via Twitter:
Breitbart fired Katie McHugh today for racist tweets (h/t @oliverdarcy). Here’s something she tweeted in 2015: pic.twitter.com/Z6JIwfjQaW
— Betsy Woodruff (@woodruffbets) June 5, 2017
I don’t think there’s any such thing as “too racist for Breitbart,” but clearly there’s “too obvious,” and Katie McHugh reached it.
— Tom Nichols (@RadioFreeTom) June 5, 2017
Katie McHugh was guilty of having the terrible judgment to openly espouse a sentiment Breitbart hides behind one thin layer of gauze
— Kilgore Trout (@KT_So_It_Goes) June 5, 2017
The old Katie McHugh tweets I’m seeing float by are astounding. Happy I wasn’t following her but my god, what an awful person.
