Breaking: House Majority Whip Steve Scalise Shot, In Stable Condition
14-50 Shots Fired
Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA), the third-most powerful Republican in the House, was shot Wednesday morning, along with an aide, at a baseball field in Alexandria, Virginia. Two police officers also shot.
Initial reports state 14-50 shots were fired. Scalise is in stable condition. Reports say he was shot in the hip.
Scalise, 51, was practicing for a bipartisan congressional baseball game scheduled for Thursday.
CBS reports a suspect is in custody:

Fox News is at least one lawmaker says minutes before the shooting a man walked up and asked if the players were Democrats or Republicans:
