She’s Back! SNL Previews Melissa McCarthy as Sean Spicer in Hilarious Promo
‘I Feel Pretty’
NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” struck gold when it tapped Melissa McCarthy to portray White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. While the decades-old show often stumbles, its political skits are the best. “Period!” to quote Melissa McCarthy, or Sean Spicer.
The network just released a promo for this weekend’s show, which McCarthy will host, and it’s, well, awesome.
“The promo all but seals the fact that McCarthy will reprise the ‘Spicey’ role this weekend when she hosts this week’s SNL, which will air live coast-to-coast,” Rolling Stone says. “The episode marks McCarthy’s fifth time hosting SNL.”
The video opens with McCarthy dancing to West Side Story’s “I Feel Pretty,” until, well, you’ll see.
Enjoy!

Some responses via Twitter:
Semi-serious question: Is Sean Spicer benched this week because Melissa McCarthy is hosting SNL and WH didn’t want to lend her fodder?

@RVAwonk @lulustracher Melissa McCarthy should play Sarah & Sean this weekend.

If you think @melissamccarthy can’t play Sarah Huckabee Sanders and @PressSec Spicer you don’t know the genius that is Melissa McCarthy.
