“House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer released a 65-page memo detailing a sprawling investigation into Biden and some of his relatives, particularly his son Hunter Biden. Nowhere in the massive document was there a specific allegation of a crime committed by Biden or any of his relatives.”
Trump Calls Appointment of Special Counsel ‘Single Greatest Witch Hunt of a Politician in American History’
Attacks Obama and Clinton
President Donald Trump is lashing out in anger over the Dept. of Justice appointment of a special counsel to investigate Russia’s interference in the 2016 election, and his targets are his Democratic opponent, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and former President Barack Obama.
“With all of the illegal acts that took place in the Clinton campaign & Obama Administration, there was never a special councel appointed!” Trump tweeted Thursday morning, misspelling “counsel.”
There were, of course, no illegal acts, and if Trump believes there were, he should make it known exactly what those illegal acts were, to allow the Justice Department to decide if his claims have merit. As it stands, there’s absolutely no indication the DOJ is looking into Trump’s lie that President Obama “wiretapped” Trump.
Minutes later Trump added this:
This is the single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American history!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 18, 2017
Both assertions are laughable, and Trump should try to stop acting as if he’s guilty.
On Wednesday, Trump told Coast Guard graduates that “No politician in history — and I say this with great surety — has been treated worse or more unfairly.”
UPDATE: 10:09 AM EDT –
At 10:07 AM, about two and a half hours after his original tweet, Trump deleted it and replaced it with one the corrects the spelling error:
With all of the illegal acts that took place in the Clinton campaign & Obama Administration, there was never a special counsel appointed!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 18, 2017
