Trump Posts Provably False Tweet Attacking ObamaCare, Twitter Mocks Accordingly
‘Did You Lie to Your Gullible Supporters?’
President Donald Trump Monday afternoon continued his unfounded attacks on ObamaCare, after the extraordinary failure of TrumpCare to even get to the House floor for a vote last month. The Trump White House, desperate to score a legislative win before his first 100 days ends on Saturday, last week claimed the House would again take up a health care plan this week and vote on Wednesday. They also claimed the text of the bill would be released by this past Saturday. They later walked back that claim, after the House and Senate both made clear there is no actual bill to vote on.Â
Monday afternoon Trump posted a tweet claiming his non-existant health care bill, which the White House claims the Senate is writing – the Senate has denied that – would reduce premiums and also, surprisingly honestly, healthcare itself.
“If our healthcare plan is approved, you will see real healthcare and premiums will start tumbling down. ObamaCare is in a death spiral!” Trump tweeted.Â
Perhaps that should have bee worded differently, but yes, if TrumpCare becomes law, Americans will definitely see the quality of their health care coverage “tumbling down.”
Of course, ObamaCare is not in a “death spiral.” That is a provably false lie, as many, including MSNBC producer Kyle Griffin tweeted:
Fact checkers: Obamacare is not in a death spiral

On Twitter, many were quick to challenge Trump on his false statements:
@realDonaldTrump No, ObamaCare is more popular than ever and your ratings are in a death spiral. Please stop lying and embarrassing America.

@realDonaldTrump Obviously premiums will plummet if you rip away health insurance from millions of Americans. pic.twitter.com/K9O5itWuWV

@realDonaldTrump Obamacare needs to be fixed.
No one is arguing that point.
But it doesn’t need to be repealed or replaced.#mondaymotivation pic.twitter.com/YXW9W8Cxxa— Holly #TheResistance (@AynRandPaulRyan) April 24, 2017
@realDonaldTrump I thought you were going to REPEAL and REPLACE ObamaCare on DAY ONE! I’m confused. Did you lie to your gullible supporters?

@realDonaldTrump Speaking of things being in a death spiral, how’s it going for you being under FBI criminal investigation for the past 9 months?
— david nuzzy nussbaum (@theNuzzy) April 24, 2017
@realDonaldTrump And screw people w/ pre-existing conditions. Why are you proud of this? pic.twitter.com/5WlYrVa5nN
