After Veiled Crude Sex Joke About Ivanka Trump Fox News Host Announces He’s Taking a Vacation
‘I’m Going to Be Taking a Vacation With My Family’
Fox News rising star Jesse Watters announced Wednesday night he’ll be taking a vacation for the rest of the week. The newly-promoted co-host of “The Five” Tuesday night made a thinly-veiled oral sex joke about Ivanka Trump and a microphone, including a hand gesture.
“I’m going to be taking a vacation with my family, so I’m not going to be here tomorrow,†Watters announced at the end of the the show (video above, about one minute in). “I’ll be back on Monday, so don’t miss me too much.†Kimberly Guilfoyle will be hosting his weekend show.
In a statement Wednesday morning Watters denied his comments were anything but commentary on the qualities of the President’s daughter’s voice. Many disagreed. Some called for his firing.
He has not apologized.
Watters has been described as an O’Reilly protégé.
“The Five” was moved to Fox primetime on Monday, so it’s rather surprising Watters is taking a previously unannounced vacation after just three days of a new network lineup, in the week following Fox News firing its top host, Bill O’Reilly, after allegations of sexual harassment and payouts.
Some responses via Twitter:
If it’s a suspension, why not call it a suspension and get credit for the disciplinary action? https://t.co/V1uzTKKxkX

@jbarro Watters’ is going to take that career vacation out to that country farm where he can run and play with other dogs and be happy.

@thehill Rut roh, you know what happened to O’Reilly during his vacation. Watters is a light weight TV host anyway.
