WATCH: Pro-Putin Former Trump Adviser on Russia Just Can’t Give a Straight Answer on Meeting Russian Ambassador
Carter Page Reverses on Meeting Russian Ambassador
Carter Page is a man of mystery. Hired by Donald Trump as a foreign policy adviser on Russia, Trump’s campaign later distanced themselves from him, even claiming Trump had never met or been briefed by him. Page is devoutly pro-Putin, and his name reportedly frequently appears in the leaked Russian dossier that alleges controversial actions by Trump in Russia, including encounters with prostitutes.
Page, The New York Times reported, was under investigation by the FBI, the NSA, and the Treasury Dept.
And he has insisted he did not meet with Russian officials last year.
