Trump Accuses Obama Of Tapping His Phones, Compares Him To Nixon

President Attacks Predecessor In Unhinged Twitter Rant

In an unhinged Saturday morning Twitter rant (above), President Donald Trump accused his predecessor of wire tapping his phones during last year’s election.

Trump compared the alleged activity to “McCarythism,” as well as “Nixon/Watergate,” and called President Barack Obama a “bad (or sick) guy.” He even made a veiled threat of prosecuting Obama, saying that “a good lawyer could make a great case out of the fact that Obama was tapping my phones in October, just prior to the election.”

Trumps’s tweets appeared to be based on a Breitbart report about allegations from right-wing radio host Mark Levin, who claims the Obama administration executed “a silent coup” to undermine Trump’s campaign.

“Levin called Obama’s effort ‘police state’ tactics, and suggested that Obama’s actions, rather than conspiracy theories about alleged Russian interference in the presidential election to help Trump, should be the target of congressional investigation,” Breitbart reported.

Here’s how Twitter responded.
