House to Vote Next Week in Desperate Effort to Pass TrumpCare

Hail Mary Pass

Republican House Leadership is planning to schedule a vote for next Thursday, March 23, on TrumpCare, the GOP’s plan to repeal and “replace” ObamaCare. Republicans in the House are increasingly opposed to the plan, and its passage is in doubt. March 23 is the day in 2010 the Affordable Care Act went into effect.

Overnight, in the Senate, Susan Collins of Maine announced she could not support the legislation. If just one more Republican Senator announces they will not vote for it, the legislation is DOA. Senator Tom Cotton has been the most vocal Republican against the bill. It’s unclear if the House will pass the bill if they know it has no chance in the Senate.

Earlier Friday morning President Donald Trump falsely announced “ObamaCare is dead” while meeting with several members of the conservative Republican Study Committee.
