White House: Investigating Trump’s Ties to Russia Just Democrats Wanting to ‘Relive Their Loss’

  • Claims FBI Calls Russia Story ‘BS’

  • Suggests Attorney General Will Not Be Recusing Himself

White House Principal Deputy Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders threatened that calls for an investigation into President Donald Trump’s ties to Russia will just be Democrats reliving their 2016 loss of the race for the presidency.

Responding to the surprise announcement by California Republican Congressman Darrell Issa that Congress should have a special prosecutor investigate Trump’s Russia ties and the intervention of Russia into the election, and that Attorney General Jeff Sessions must recuse himself from any investigation, Huckabee Sanders called the the president’s involvement with Russia “BS.”

“Look, I think the real easy answer here is that the FBI has already said this story is BS,” Huckabee Sanders told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos (video below). “Those are their words, so I apologize to my mom. But literally, those are the words of the FBI, that the story is BS.”

In fact, that’s inaccurate.

Senior White House officials, Talking Points Memo reported, “told reporters that FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe brought up to [Rince] Priebus during a one-on-one meeting on Feb. 15 that a New York Times story on the subject was ‘bullshit,’ according to a White House pool report.”

In other words, the White House says the FBI said the Times story was “BS.”

Stephanopoulos responded saying exactly that: “First of all, the FBI has made officially no comment. The FBI director, James Comey, has had no comment. You’re saying that the FBI told you that it was BS. The FBI hasn’t said that at all.”

Huckabee Sanders said that any congressional committees investigating Trump’s Russia ties will all “come to the same conclusion — that we had no involvement in this.”

“The bigger thing here is if Democrats want to continue to relive their loss every single day by doing investigations or review after review, that’s fine by us,” she charged. “We know why we won this race. It’s because we had the better candidate with the better message. They didn’t campaign in the right places. They didn’t have a good candidate. If they want to continue to relive that loss every single day, then we welcome that.”

Stephanopoulos responded, “I’ll just say that for the record and I’ll take your answer to say you don’t believe that the attorney general needs to recuse right now.”

Huckabee Sanders replied, “George, I don’t think we’re there yet.”

Newsmax Host Falsely Attacks Biden and Entire Democratic Party for Declaring ‘War on Christianity’

Published

on

A host on the far right wing cable and streaming TV channel Newsmax has declared the entire Democratic Party, including its devoutly-Catholic President, has “declared war,” not on just Christmas, but on “Christianity” itself. That would be extremely surprising to the majority of Democratic registered voters who self-identify as Christian.

The revelation of a “war on Christianity” comes in a wide-ranging attack on the left from the Newsmax host Friday morning, who decided to attack the White House’s highly-praised Christmas decorations this year, which were designed by First Lady Dr. Jill Biden.

“This week is about Christmas at the White House,” the host declared. “I love Christmas decorations. But this looks a little like a Carnival Cruise especially from an administration and political party as a whole that has declared war on Christianity for a while now.”

‘What Wannabe Totalitarian, Fascist Dictators Do’: Alarm Over DeSantis Move to Form His Own ‘Personal Militia’

Published

on

Critics are responding with alarm to news Florida GOP Governor Ron DeSantis is asking for millions of taxpayer funds to create his own militia force, separate from the existing National Guard.

CNN calls it “a World War II-era civilian military force that he, not the Pentagon, would control.” And while the law allows for the move, it was created “as a temporary force to fill the void left behind” when the state’s National Guard was deployed overseas, and “disbanded after the war ended.”

But the highly-controversial Florida Republican, seen as one of the top 2024 GOP presidential candidates, is also making clear his motives are a further escalation in his war of words against the Biden administration.

“DeSantis also said this unit, called the Florida State Guard, would be ‘not encumbered by the federal government.’ He said this force would give him ‘the flexibility and the ability needed to respond to events in our state in the most effective way possible.'”

It’s also being seen as one more potential attack on science during the coronavirus pandemic era. All National Guard members must be vaccinated. DeSantis opposes all vaccine and mask mandates and has invited unvaccinated, fired police officers from others states to move to Florida – and offering them a $5000 payment.

Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, now a U.S. Congressman but running to unseat DeSantis, called DeSantis’ militia a “handpicked secret police” force.

Perhaps one of the strongest warnings comes from SiriusXM Progress host Dean Obeidallah, who calls it “the beginning of a ‘Red Army’ as the GOP prepares for war.”

“The same Republicans who claim Jan 6 was not a terrorist attack but just a ‘tourist visit’ now tell us not to be concerned with Ron DeSantis forming a personal militia that he says will ‘not encumbered by the federal government,'” Obeidallah adds. “This is a Red Army!!!”

MSNBC’s Joy Reid likened the move to fascism, asking: “So… y’all know this is fascisty bananas, right…?”

Attorney and DeSantis critic Daniel Uhlfelder noted the governor’s “classic authoritarian move” on bringing his son to the announcement.

“More setting up for 2024 coup!” tweeted Amy Siskind, The New Agenda founder and author of The Weekly List.

Research and strategic communication CEO Fernand Amandi describes DeSantis’ move as “What wannabe totalitarian, fascist, authoritarian dictators do.”

‘Bags and Bags’ of Money Found Stashed in Bathroom Wall at Joel Osteen’s Megachurch: Report

Published

on

A plumbing repair at televangelist Joel Osteen’s megachurch in Houston reportedly led to the discovery of “bags and bags” of cash and checks in a bathroom wall.

The discovery came several years after someone stole $600,000 in cash and checks from a safe at Osteen’s Lakewood Church, according to a report from KRPC Channel 2. The station suggested that whoever stole the money in 2014 may have hidden it in the bathroom wall.

A plumber named Justin, who works for a large contractor, told the station he got a call about a loose toilet at the church on Nov. 10.

“Justin said he started working on the toilet and had to remove the tile and insulation,” the station reports. “Once he removed the insulation, he discovered about 3,000 envelopes full of checks. Some had cash in it. Justin said he called the church’s maintenance supervisor and had to stay at the church for almost seven hours.”

Houston police investigators later questioned Justin and removed the rest of the wall, discovering “bags and bags” of money and checks.

“Justin said the church or HPD never thanked him or reached out to him about $25,000 reward money,” the station reported, referring to the reward that was offered following the 2014 theft. “Justin said he even called Crime Stoppers about reward money, but never heard back. He even tried reaching out to Joel Osteen but hasn’t heard back.”

A representative from the church confirmed the discovery in a statement.

“Recently, while repair work was being done at Lakewood Church, an undisclosed amount of cash and checks were found,” the church representative said. “Lakewood immediately notified the Houston Police Department and is assisting them with their investigation. Lakewood has no further comment at this time.”

In 2014, Houston police said $200,000 in cash and $400,000 worth of checks were stolen from a safe at the church. At the time, the church said the stolen money represented funds that were contributed during one weekend of services.
