WATCH: SNL Brutally Mocks Sean Spicer, And The Grim Reaper Returns As Steve Bannon
Trump’s First Two Weeks In Office Provided Plenty Of Material
For Saturday’s broadcast, SNL had most of President Donald Trump’s first two weeks in office to work with — and the show didn’t disappoint.Â
With Melissa McCarthy portraying Press Secretary Sean Spicer, SNL brutally mocked his White House press briefings.Â
“I’d like to begin today by apologizing on behalf of you, to me, or how you have treated me in the last two weeks,” McCarthy said. “And that apology is not accepted. Because I’m not here to be your buddy. I’m here to swallow gum and I’m here to take names.”Â
Earlier, in the show’s “Cold Open,” White House adviser Steve Bannon — played by the Grim Reaper — urges Trump to make phone calls to foreign leaders, including Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto.Â
Trump, played by Alec Baldwin, threatens to start wars with all three countries, and tries to trick Nieto into paying for his border wall by offering a free cruise and asking for his country’s credit card number.Â
