Donald Trump Just Told America He Cannot Keep Us Safe
America Needs Needs to See a Different Version of President Trump, Because This One Isn’t Working Out
President Donald Trump just admitted that he is incapable of keeping America safe, and that our national security does not rest in the hands of the excellent men and women in our armed forces, many of whom risk their lives every day, nor in the hands of our intelligence professionals, many of whom risk their lives every day, nor even in the White House. No, according to our new Commander-in-Chief, America’s safety and security rests in the hands of the judges on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
President Trump has been sued by the State of Washington over his likely illegal and unconstitutional Muslim travel ban, and after a U.S. District judge (a “so-called judge,” in Trump’s words) placed a temporary hold on that executive order, the Trump administration appealed the decision to the 9th Circuit court.
The Dept. of Justice attorney who argued for the administration’s case Tuesday evening – requesting the judges to lift the hold and allow his ill-conceived ban to go back into effect, which would cause chaos and confusion as it did the first time – didn’t do a great job, and court watchers believe the government will lose this round.
Rather than come up with another plan, rather than already have another plan to protect the American people – even though since 9/11 not a single fatal attack from terrorists in the seven countries in Trump’s travel ban have taken place on U.S. soil – President Trump early Wednesday morning told the American people if the judges on the 9th Circuit do not rule in his favor, we can never be safe. “Never.”
If the U.S. does not win this case as it so obviously should, we can never have the security and safety to which we are entitled. Politics!

This is the response of a man so in over his head he has no “Plan B,” no idea the resources available to him, and yet, this is the man who, as candidate Trump, promised he would destroy ISIS and had a plan to do so.
What Donald Trump should have tweeted instead is, “If the U.S. does not win this case, I will spend every waking moment through different means to defend your safety and to defend the Constitution. I believe in the American people, and in the goodness of all people, regardless of their faith. We will win this together.”
For now, America and the world is stuck with President Trump. We need to see a different version, because this one isn’t working out.
