Breaking: Despite Democrat’s 30 Minute Mini ‘Filibuster’ Committee Approves Jeff Sessions as Attorney General
Franken Stands Up for Justice, Truth in Sessions Fight
Senator Jeff Sessions has just been approved to become President Donald Trump’s attorney general in an 11-9 committee vote despite a mini “filibuster” by Democratic Senator Al Franken. All Democrats voted against Sessions, all Republicans voted for him. Sessions is a highly controversial choice, accused of being a racist, and was Trump’s first supporter in the U.S. Senate. Recently, some have been saying Sessions and Trump are very much in alignment.
At one point Senator Franken’s remarks drew the open anger and denouncement of GOP Sen. John Cornyn, who labeled the Senator from Minnesota’s words as “untoward,” as an argument broke out:

Sessions will be voted on by the full Senate at a later date, where he almost certainly will be confirmed.Â
UPDATE:
The Washington Post reports Sessions “is expected to be confirmed by the full Senate by the end of the week.”
