Trump Falsely Tells Congressional Leaders 3-5 Million Illegal Ballots Prevented Him From Winning Popular Vote
Statement Is One of President’s Many Lies
President Donald Trump held his first meeting with top Democratic and Republican leaders of the House and the Senate late Monday, spending about ten minutes telling them he would have won the popular vote but for widespread voter fraud. There was no widespread voter fraud and it’s stunning the leader of the free world insists on spreading the blatant lie, especially among elected lawmakers who know he’s lying.
The meeting, a reception held at the White House, according to The Washington Post, featured President Trump insisting between millions of illegal votes were cast in the November election. Trump at the end of November tweeted the very same lie.
“Two people familiar with the meeting said Trump spent about 10 minutes at the top of the gathering with Republican and Democratic lawmakers rehashing the campaign. Trump also told them that between 3 million and 5 million illegal votes caused him to lose the popular vote,” the Post reports. “The discussion about Trump’s election victory and his claim that he would have won the popular vote was confirmed by a third person familiar with the meeting.”
Trump told Hill leaders in meeting today that he won the popular vote “but I don’t think he was joking,” per source familiar with mtg.

Politico also reported Trump’s lie.
“Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas) confirmed that Trump made the voter fraud claim,” Politico states.Â
For the record, Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, earning almost 3 million more votes than Trump.
The AP posted raw video of the beginning of the reception:

Donald Trump foments violence and hate, is a serial liar, a racist, a misogynist, a supporter of white nationalism, a fascistic bully, an authoritarian thug, a sexual assault and adultery braggart, a hypocrite, a defrauder, and is a danger to civil rights, freedom of the press, and peace around the world.
