Breaking: Megyn Kelly to Leave Fox News for NBC
Will Have Several of Her Own Shows
Fox News star anchor Megyn Kelly is leaving the right wing news network for rival NBC News, The New York Times is reporting.
“The move will herald a seismic shift in the cable news landscape,” the Times says.
She is expected to “host her own daytime news and discussion program, anchor an in-depth Sunday night news show and take regular part in the network’s special political programming and other big-event coverage,” the Times‘ Jim Rutenberg reports.
Like several others, Kelly accused the now-disgraced Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes of sexual harassment. She has been at Fox for 12 years.Â
NBC News chairman Andrew Lack is seen as having convinced Kelly to leave Fox News, where her contract expires later this year.
Kelly was well-known before the 2016 presidential race, but her moderation of the first Fox News Republican presidential debate during which she began by detailing some of Donald Trump’s offensive behaviors and comments toward women (video below) skyrocketed her to fame – and made her a relentless target of the candidate who went on to won the nomination and the White House.
