Turnout For Women’s March Exceeds Attendance At Trump’s Inauguration

Millions Attend Solidarity Events Around The World

Turnout for Saturday’s anti-Trump Women’s March on Washington has already exceeded attendance at the inauguration on Friday, according to multiple reports. 

“Throngs of people streamed into the nation’s capital Saturday to attend a massive march in support of women’s rights and civil rights and in protest of President Donald Trump, far outnumbering attendees at his inaugural festivities a day earlier,” McClatchy News reported. 

DC’s Metro system reported on Twitter that ridership was 275,000 as of 11 a.m. on Saturday, more than eight times normal, compared to 193,000 at the same time on Friday: 

A city official said Saturday morning that estimated turnout for the march was 500,000, more than double initial predictions. Only about 250,000 are believed to have attended the inauguration.
