Donald Trump’s Tweet Attacking Lockheed Martin Just Cost the Aircraft Maker $4 Billion in Market Value
Stock Now Down Over 4 Percent
The man who can be baited with a tweet knows that fact is a two-way street. Donald Trump Monday morning, posted a tweet attacking what he claims are “out of control” costs for a stealth military fighter jet, the F-35, manufactured by Lockheed Martin.
The F-35 program and cost is out of control. Billions of dollars can and will be saved on military (and other) purchases after January 20th.

“Trump said Monday that ‘billions of dollars can and will be saved on military (and other) purchases after he is inaugurated,” MarketWatch reports.
Last week Trump picked a fight with Boeing, falsely claiming that the defense contractor who is under contract for $170 million to work with the White House and Defense Dept. to design new Air Force Ones for the president, was extremely over budget by about a billion dollars. There is no contract yet to manufacture the planes, which the DoD has tagged at about $1.3 billion for each.
Trump on Saturday in Louisiana even falsely suggested that one Air Force One would cost $4.2 billion.
