Watch: ‘The Simpsons’ Mock Donald Trump
The Famous “3 AM Phone Call”
Sunday night “The Simpsons” took on Donald Trump in a short clip based on the famous “3 AM phone call” ad from the 2008 election.
The scene opens with Marge and Homer in bed. Marge announces she cannot make love until she decides who she’s going to vote for. Homer switches on the TV to an ad asking who they want in the White House if the phone rings at 3 in the morning — summoning the president to the Situation Room to deal with a crisis.
The clip takes a quick swing at Hillary Clinton, then heads to Trump.
Trump is portrayed as a Scrooge-like character, complete with tasseled cap, and a book on his lap titled “Great Speeches,” by “A. Hitler,” which matches the reality of what his former wife said he kept on his nightstand.Â
Now president, Trump is still tweeting, this time attacking Elizabeth Warren but saying, “I’m glad I exiled her.”
After several calls, Trump agrees to go to the Situation Room, but takes many hours to stop what he’s doing, leading to a disaster with China.
“Just build another wall. Yes, in the ocean, loser!,” is Trump’s response.
