Donald Trump Just Exploited a Tragic Murder. Again.
GOP Nominee Tweets About the Tragic Murder of a Black Woman to ‘Prove’ African-Americans Will Vote for Him
Chicago Bulls shooting guard star Dwyane Wade took to Twitter Friday night, tweeting about the sad and tragic death of his cousin, 32-year old Nykea Aldridge, the mother of four children. She “was pushing a baby in a stroller in the Parkway Gardens neighborhood after leaving the Dulles School of Excellence at around 3:30 p.m. when two men opened fire at another man,” ABC News reports.
Grieving and mourning, Wade shared the news, and his anger and upset with his nearly 6 million followers:Â “My cousin was killed today in Chicago. Another act of senseless gun violence. 4 kids lost their mom for NO REASON. Unreal. #EnoughIsEnough,” the popular NBA star tweeted.

Right on cue, just as he has done at nearly every major terror attack and other tragedies, Donald Trump, rather than showing empathy, sympathy, or some form of human understanding, sadness, or support, used the tragedy, and someone’s grief, to flatter himself and “prove” he was “right” about an issue and therefore should be president.
“Dwayne Wade’s cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago. Just what I have been saying. African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!,” Trump tweeted Saturday morning, incorrectly spelling Wade’s first name to boot:

People on Twitter were outraged, and rightly so.
Here’s a sampling:
Leave it to Donald Trump to exploit a tragedy to turn it into a delusional justification for his pathetic campaign. https://t.co/IHd4ungxhO

That’s an honest question, @realDonaldTrump: what is wrong with you? You say Clinton just sees black people as votes. What did you just do?
— Jamil Smith (@JamilSmith) August 27, 2016
Also, @realDonaldTrump, will you be citing all black murders going forward as reasons to vote Trump? Or just those related to famous people?
— Jamil Smith (@JamilSmith) August 27, 2016
.@realDonaldTrump what in the everlasting fuck is wrong with your mind

1) You’re celebrating/politicizing this death instead of mourning it or offering condolences. 2) His name is Dwyane. https://t.co/fFTDCDGjiL

“My sympathies go out to their family. We must work to end this violence” would be a tweet for an actual human. https://t.co/E7FplTyFlS

@realDonaldTrump SO DISRESPECTFUL!!! No condolences! Using that woman’s death as your own political gain. @angela_rye @Bakari_Sellers

@realDonaldTrump You can’t pretend to care enough to check the spelling of his name before exploiting his cousin’s horrific death?

Your Republican nominee everyone. https://t.co/ehxP0Kaur9

Really, that tweet legit upsets me. That family is mourning and Trump jumps in to practically celebrate their loss. Ghoulish.

Trump also exploited the terror attacks in Orlando, Paris, and Nice to try to benefit his political campaign.Â
