SWAT Team Sweeping Parking Garage; Department Also Received Anonymous Threat
UPDATE: 7:12 p.m. Central time: Dallas police have completed their sweep of the parking garage, and no suspect was found.Â

UPDATE, 6:45 p.m Central time.: Police say no shots were fired. Early reports that shots had been fired were based on the sound of an explosive device used to enter a locked fence:Â
There has been media reports of shots fired at police HQ, there has been NO shots fired. SWAT set off a device to enter a locked fence.

The department also says the headquarters building itself has not been placed on lockdown. Rather, officers are sweeping a parking garage behind the headquarters where the suspicious person was spotted.Â

UPDATE, 6:35 p.m. Central time: Police are focused on a parking garage behind the headquarters building, where employees spotted a suspicious person:

Some outlets, including The Dallas Morning News, are now reporting that no shots have been fired, contrary to initial reports.Â
ORIGINAL POST: Shots were fired Saturday evening at Dallas police headquarters, according to reports on Twitter.
A SWAT team was deployed to the building, which had been placed on lockdown in response to an anonymous threat. Â
“The Dallas Police Department received an anonymous threat against law enforcement across the city and has taken precautionary measures to heightened security,” the department said in an email statement at 5:53 p.m. Central time. Â
The incident comes two days after five Dallas officers were killed and seven injured in a terror attack at the end of a police-brutality protest.Â
