Donald Trump Delivers Speech Introducing Mike Pence as His VP Pick, Gets Mercilessly Mocked
Political Pundits Just Decimated One of the Most Important Events of the Trump Presidential Campaign: ‘The Most Half-Assed Big-Time Political Event I’ve Ever Seen’
Donald Trump in Manhattan just concluded his speech introducing Mike Pence as his vice presidential running mate, and by all accounts it was a complete disaster. Trump, true to form, made his speech introducing the Indiana governor all about Donald Trump, and even admitted at one point he chose Pence was because of his good looks. Trump’s speech lasted nearly a full half-hour, and he barely mentioned Pence at all, and not before he was halfway through. At the end, rather than stand by his VP pick, he walked off the stage, leaving Pence to deliver his speech all alone.
On Twitter, political pundits, journalists, and average voters ripped it apart. Take a look:
PoliticusUSA publisher:

….. back to Mike Pence. ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME

Media Matters alum:
Donald Trump just said he picked Mike Pence because he’s good looking.
And that’s the least weird part of this speech.

This speech is pretty good evidence that Trump was, in fact, uncertain about his choice, and remains so.

Does Trump’s campaign realize he is announcing his VP at 830/930 AM on Saturday in several states he theoretically needs to win?

Well that was an affront to everything everyone has learned about how to run a campaign ever

And in response to a question from Bloomberg Politics host:
1. Timing 2.Talking about himself not Pence 3.No Logo 4.Not being on stage together 5. no organizing/digital element https://t.co/B4t490aRsb

So Trump speaks 28 minutes, introduces Pence and leaves the stage. Leaves the stage.
