Trump: Obama Administration Policies Toward LGBT Community a ‘Disgrace’ (Video)

GOP Candidate Blasts Administration That Secured Marriage Equality, Hate Crimes Law, and Killed DOMA and DADT

During a speech on terrorism Monday Republican candidate for president Donald Trump claimed he is the most pro-gay candidate in any major party running for office, and assailed the Obama administration’s record on LGBT civil rights, which he called “LBGT.”

Claiming he is more pro-LGBT than Hillary Clinton, Trump at one point in his speech told his New Hampshire audience, “and by the way, the LBGT community is just, what’s happened to them it’s just so sad, and to be thinking about where their policies are currently with this administration is just a disgrace to that community, I will tell you right now.”

The billionaire businessman, to be clear, is talking about the most LGBT-friendly president in history. Under President Barack Obama’s leadership, the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act was passed and signed into law. “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” was repealed. DOMA was gutted. Same-sex couples were finally recognized as having the same rights to marry as different-sex couples. Transgender students are now being given support and having their civil rights protected. The list goes on and on and on.

Donald Trump, for the record, opposes same-sex marriage, flip-flopped on transgender people using restrooms, supports the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA), which hands anyone in the nation the “right” to discriminate against LGBT people.
