It’s 2016 and Old Navy Is Getting Attacked With Vile Racist Tweets Over This Ad

A Photograph of an Interracial Family Was Enough Fuel to Fire Up Racist Trolls on Twitter

Old Navy, the big-box discount retailer that’s part of the 46-year old $16 billion multi-national apparel chain, posted a tweet with a photo of a beautiful family on Friday, announcing a 30% discount:

What followed was a barrage of racist, vile, ignorant tweets. Yes, it’s 2016, we have a Black President, the 50th anniversary of Loving v. Virginia is next year, and some people are still angry that Black people and white people are creating families together.

For example, there’s this, from a “European rights activist,” aka, white supremacy activist:

Of course, not all the responses were from racist trolls. Most were from people thrilled with the image and happy Old Navy was making an effort to show families like theirs:
