Scott Walker Endorses Ted Cruz
Wisconsin Governor and Former GOP Presidential Candidate Endorses Former Rival
Wisconsin Republican Governor Scott Walker Tuesday morning endorsed Texas Senator Ted Cruz for president. Walker made his announcement speaking with Wisconsin radio station WTMJ host Charlie Sykes, the same host who interviewed Donald Trump Monday in a disastrous conversation.
“We know how to take on the big government interests,” Walker said, adding that Cruz “has shown he’s not afraid to take on those interests.”
“Ted Cruz is in the best position by far to win the nomination of the Republican Party then go on to beat Hillary Clinton,” Walker added.
Asked by Sykes, the Wisconsin governor agreed that he “absolutely” is “all in for Ted Cruz,” whom he called a “principled conservative.”Â
Walker stressed that Cruz loves his wife and children.
Walker recently announced he would make an endorsement soon, and that he was timing it for maximum effect. He made sure to attack Hillary Clinton and even brought up Benghazi.
The Wisconsin GOP primary is April 5.
In the latest Wisconsin poll, Cruz is beating Trump by 5 points.
