Watch Live Now: Georgia Senate Votes On Horrifically Anti-Gay ‘Religious Freedom’ Bill
The ‘First Amendment Defense Act’ Is Dangerously Close to Becoming Law
This morning the Georgia Senate will vote on a bill that will allow religious based anti-LGBT discrimination. The Georgia ‘First Amendment Defense Act’ (FADA) has been stalled for over a year, but now that it’s been combined with a more popular bill, the entirely unnecessary Pastor Protection Act, it’s been green lighted and pushed for passage.
You can watch the proceedings live, above, which are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM EST. The bill is HB 757.
You can also watch live on the Georgia Senate’s website.
“If passed,” Georgia Unites warns, “this harmful legislation would set our state back 30+ years, allowing tax-payer funded organizations to discriminate across the board—putting LGBT Georgians, unmarried couples, women, racial minorities, religious minorities, people living with disabilities, and more in the line of fire.”
Georgia’s #HB757 will be debated on the House floor today. Here’s why the bill is so dangerous: https://t.co/sePyd8NA1l #gapol
