Nearly One Out Of Three Trump Voters In SC Would Ban Gays From Entering The U.S.

GOP Frontrunner’s Supporters Hold Beliefs Straight Out Of The 1950’s

In South Carolina, “Make America Great Again” means flying the Confederate flag over the state capitol, wishing the South had won the Civil War, banning gay people and Muslims from entering the U.S., keeping track of Muslims in a database, and shutting down all mosques and banning Islam.

A new PPP poll of views of South Carolina voters shows just how extremist, racist, and homophobic Donald Trump‘s supporters there are.

Nearly one in three (31%) of Trump’s SC supporters would ban gay people from entering the U.S., almost double of any other candidate’s supporters.

80 percent of Trump’s fans in the Palmetto State support Trump’s call to ban Muslims from entering America, 62 percent want a national database to track Muslims, 40 percent want to shut down all mosques in America, and one-third (33%) think Islam itself should be outlawed.

Of course, there’s more.

“70% think the Confederate flag should still be flying over the State Capital, to only 20% who agree with it being taken down,” PPP reports.

“In fact 38% of Trump voters say they wish the South had won the Civil War to only 24% glad the North won and 38% who aren’t sure. Overall just 36% of Republican primary voters in the state are glad the North emerged victorious to 30% for the South, but Trump’s the only one whose supporters actually wish the South had won.”

Trump is leading in South Carolina with 35 percent, followed by Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, both with 18 percent. John Kasich has 10 percent, and jeb Bush and Ben Carson each have 7 percent.

“Make America Great Again” in South Carolina, at least, means “Make America Christian White Supremacist Again.”

And that’s a frightening fact.
