Huckabee: Trump Not Racist
Huckabee Rushes to Defend GOP Frontrunner
Mike Huckabee is rushing to defend Donald Trump after the GOP frontrunner refused to denounce or disavow the KKK and white supremacist David Duke. The former Grand Wizard endorsed Trump and on Sunday Trump on CNN claimed he didn’t even know what white supremacy is.
“Does anybody think Donald Trump is a racist? I don’t. I mean, I really don’t. I don’t know of anything in his life that indicates that this man has racist tendencies,” Huckabee told the MSNBC Morning Joe team.
Calling Duke and the KKK “absolutely abominable,” Huckabee, the former GOP governor of Arkansas said he doubts Trump “is as sensitive about just how deplorable David Duke is to many of us in the South.â€

Growing up in the South, Huckabee said, “I’m more sensitive and frankly more repulsed by racism than … people who didn’t grow up here.”
Arkansas Blog’s David Ramsey notes that “Huckabee’s daughter, for the record, just started working for the Trump campaign.”
Huckabee himself said he will not endorse any candidate during the primary.
Huckabee is not the only has-been GOP politician to run to defend Trump. Newt Gingrich tweeted his support, noting that Trump disavowed Duke days before he refused to on CNN.
Any media effort to suggest Trump has not disavowed David Duke is just wrong. He has clearly disavowed the racist. News media should move on
