Santorum, Huckabee To Join Trump At Vets Event After Undercard GOP Debate
Cruz PAC, Fiorina Offer Millions To Debate Trump Tonight
Donald Trump is boycotting tonight’s GOP debate, and threw together a fundraiser for veterans which he scheduled for the same time as the Fox News event.
Wednesday, a Ted Cruz Super PAC offered Trump $1.5 million to debate Cruz instead.
Thursday morning, Carly Fiorina offered Trump $2 million to debate her instead.
All those millions would go to veterans’ charities.
Now, Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee will leave the Fox News stage after tonight’s undercard debate and head over to Iowa’s Drake University to join Trump at his veterans’ fundraiser, the New York Times reports.
Trump, meanwhile, retweeted a supporter who is predicting CNN will have record-breaking viewership tonight, because, he thinks, no one will watch the Fox News debate.Â
“@GmoneyRainmaker: I hope @CNN has enough bandwidth tonight because not many will be watching @FoxNews. Watching Trump tonight #GOPDebate“
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 28, 2016
And he added:
The “debate” tonight will be a total disaster – low ratings with advertisers and advertising rates dropping like a rock. I hate to see this.
