BREAKING: Liberty University President Endorses Donald Trump

Head Of Nation’s Largest Christian University Defies Top Evangelicals To Endorse GOP Frontrunner

Jerry Falwell, Jr., has just endorsed Donald Trump for president. The head of Liberty University invited the boisterous billionaire to speak in honor of Martin Luther King Day earlier this month. During that speech, Trump stumbled when trying to quote the Bible, and admitted later that Family Research Council head Tony Perkins had written that part of his speech for him.

Falwell, in a statement endorsing Trump today, called him “a successful executive and entrepreneur, a wonderful father and a man who I believe can lead our country to greatness again.”

“It is truly an honor to receive Jerry’s endorsement. Not only is he a high-quality person, with a wonderful family, whom I have great respect for – I also consider him a very good friend and his support means so much to me,” Trump responded in a statement.

Falwell is the the son of the late and highly controversial televangelist, Jerry Falwell.

During his speech introducing Donald Trump to the Liberty University students, which the Washington Post labeled “glowing,” Falwell gushed positively about Trump.

“As you know, Liberty University does not support or oppose candidates for public office, and Mr. Trump’s appearance here should not be interpreted by any as an endorsement by Liberty. … But I do want to share with you things,” Falwell said.

“In my opinion, Donald Trump lives a life of loving and helping others as Jesus taught in the great commandment.”

But during Trump’s speech, respected evangelical leader Dr. Russell Moore, President of the Southern Baptist Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, posted these tweets condemning Trump’s words:
