Ammon Bundy Went On Fox News To Explain His Oregon Occupation To Megyn Kelly. It Didn’t Go Well.

Leader Of Militia Group Being Labeled Domestic Terrorists Didn’t Get The Interview He Was Expecting

Almost every conservative politician and right wing activist automatically assumes an interview on Fox News will be easy, like coming home from college to mom and dad. But it doesn’t always work out that way.

Ammon Bundy, the now-embattled leader of a small militia group, sat down with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly Monday night to plead his case. It didn’t go well.

Kelly opened by asking Bundy how his actions are not “lawlessness.”

He responded by saying, “I think we have to go to the supreme law of the land, and that is that the federal government does not have authority to come down into the states, and to control its land and resources.”

Bundy, of course, is wholly incorrect in that claim.

Kelly pointed out that the Oregon ranchers, the Hammonds, whom Bundy claims are the reason for his occupation of a federal installation had their day in the Supreme Court, and lost.

Bundy then tried to play games with Kelly, asking her who the plaintiff was in the case against the Hammonds. Kelly refused to play along, giving Hammond a cold, dark, impatient state, and zero support. “I’m waiting for you to make your point, generally I don’t answer questions on my show, I ask them.”

Bundy went on to suggest a federal government conspiracy.

Kelly then cornered Bundy on his brother Ryan’s statement that they are willing to kill and be killed.

“I’m not here to die,” Ammon said, trying to walk that claim back, but added he is willing to die if need be, so, not really succeeding in that either.

On Twitter, Fox News fans actually were angered by Kelly’s treatment of Bundy (of course):
