Breaking: Lindsey Graham, Citing Campaign Success, Drops Out Of GOP Presidential Race (Video)
Lindsey Graham in a recorded message says he feels he’s accomplished one of his campaign’s goals and will drop out of the 2016 race for president.
Polling between zero and two percent, Senator Lindsey Graham Monday morning announced he is suspending his campaign, which in other words means he is dropping out of the 2016 GOP presidential race.
Citing his goal of getting his party to realize, he believes, America needs to put boots on the ground to fight ISIS/ISIL, Graham says in a video announcing his decision he feels he has been successful.
“I’m going to suspend my campaign. I’m not going to suspend my desire to help the country,” told CNN. “I’ve hit a wall here.”
“Here’s what I predict. I think the nominee of our party is going to adopt my plan when it comes time to articulate how to destroy ISIL,” the South Carolina Senator added. “We’ve fallen short here, but the fight continues. To those who are doing the fighting, I want to be your voice. To those in the Republican Party who want to win, check my plan out. Hillary, if you get to be President, I’ll help you where I can. I hope you’re not. But if you are, I’ll be there to help you win a war we can’t afford to lose.”
Graham, who has not been shy about his dislike of Donald Trump, calling him at one point “a complete idiot,” noted, “I have no intention of endorsing anyone right now.”
