Watch: Carly Fiorina Tells Dog, ‘Obama Ate One Of Your Cousins’ In New Ad
Carly Fiorina just launched a new ad, which clearly was designed to make her appear more likable. Do you think it succeeds?
Carly Fiorina, polling between just 1 and 5 percent, has launched a new ad that apparently was supposed to make her appear more likable. After her lies about Planned Parenthood videos onstage at a GOP debate, Fiorina’s favorability and ratings plummeted. She has also attacked those who suggest her comments about Planned Parenthood contributed to a climate of lies and hate that motivated a Colorado terrorist to shot and kill three people at a Planned Parenthood recently.
But in typical Fiorina fashion, she’s managed to make even pets polarizing.
“Why Dogs Are Better Than Cats With Carly Fiorina,” is the title of the new ad, produced in conjunction with the right wing website Independent Journal.
In the video, Fiorina tells one pooch, “Ya know, President Obama ate one of your cousins,” and then, looking at the camera, “Vote Republican.”Â
She is referring of course to the passage in Obama’s autobiography detailing his experiences as a boy, when, between 6 and 10 years old, he lived in Indonesia, and did in fact eat dog meat, as is local custom.
She also later says, “Not even Obama has a cat.”
In the video version posted to the Independent Journal’s Facebook page, she says to one dog, “I like your little peace sign. It’s very cool. Our Republican primary voters might not like them, but …”
Fiorina has not posted the video to her social media pages.
She also cops to eating Milk Bone dog biscuits as a child.Â
The video ends with Fiorina holding a small white dog and saying, “Someone on twitter said I reminded them of Cruella de Vil,” the 101 Dalmatians character. “That is totally unfair. Although your coat is exceptionally soft.”
