Watch What Donald Trump Says To A Woman Who Tells Him ‘I Don’t Think You’re A Friend To Women’
Donald Trump gets cornered by a woman who wants to know his positions on equal pay and abortion.
At today’s right wing No Labels political conference, one woman pointedly accused Donald Trump of not being a good candidate on issues that affect women directly.
“Maybe you can prove me wrong, but I don’t think you’re a friend to women,†the unidentified woman told the GOP frontrunner.
“I knew I shouldn’t have picked her,†Trump mocked.
“Let me give you that answer right now,†he continued, offering his usual salvo of how he has done things no one else has.
“I respect women incredibly. I have had women working for me in positions that they have never worked in terms of construction, in terms of so many different jobs. I had a woman who was in charge of the building of Trump Tower many years ago, before anybody would have even thought of it. I have given women more opportunity than, I would say, virtually anybody in the construction industry.â€
Trump claimed his wife and daughter “constantly” want him to talk about women’s health issues, “because they know how I feel about women.”
“I’m going to take care of women, and I have great respect for women and I do cherish women,†Trump promised.
The woman later in the clip, below, asks Trump about his positions on equal pay and abortion.
“I want to get paid the same as a man,” the woman continued, “so if you become president, will I get paid the same as a man and do I get to choose what I do with my body?,” she asked.
Trump answered that if he is president she will get paid the same as a man, “if you do as good a job,” he told her.
“And I happen to be pro-life,” he concluded.
Watch:
Neither candidate Trump nor the woman who asked the question mentioned the first piece of legislation that President Barack Obama signed in office, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which amends the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and helps women fight companies that pay them less.
