Watch: Kim Davis Tells Same-Sex Couple They ‘Will Face Consequences When It Comes Time For Judgment’

Watch as Kim Davis tells a couple who have been together 17 years and just want to marry that they’ll have to face the consequences.

When my now-husband and I went to city hall to apply for our marriage license, practically the entire building wished us well, including the other same-sex couple who came in after us. It was a joyous occasion, made even more special by the smiling faces and genuine, sincere exclamations of “congratulations!” that no doubt every couple would want.

When David Moore and David Ermold went to apply for their marriage license at the Rowan County, Kentucky, courthouse, they received a different response.

“No.”

Several times, across several months, by several people.

So often, in fact, that they began filming each attempt, after their first video of being denied by Kim Davis went viral, with now nearly two million views.

Today, Kim Davis once again refused to grant David Moore and David Ermold a marriage license. Only today was a bit different, since she had a court order hanging over her head, and the knowledge the Supreme Court would not intervene.

On camera, Davis can be seen refusing them, and on camera, she says, “I’m willing to face my consequences as you all will face your consequences when it comes time for judgment.”

“You all,” presumably, means all same-sex couples, and “time for judgment” presumably means when they die, before God.

Davis, of course, is the now infamous Rowan County clerk who is acting against a court order instructing her to issue marriage licenses to all couples, regardless of gender.

Why?

Her Christian beliefs would be violated, she says.

Davis and her deputy clerks will have to appear before a federal judge on Thursday, when he is expected to place them in contempt of court and issue fines – but not a jail sentence.
