‘Double Life’: Josh Duggar Says Pornography ‘Became A Secret Addiction,’ Lead Him To Be ‘Unfaithful’
Josh Duggar comes clean after his two Ashley Madison accounts were revealed.
Josh Duggar just posted an apology on his family’s official blog, admitting to cheating on his wife. The “19 Kids and Counting” star, according to an investigation published last night by Gawker, had two paid accounts at the adultery dating site Ashley Madison.Â
“I have been the biggest hypocrite ever,” the elder Duggar son admits. “While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.”
Note the lack of responsibility Josh Duggar takes for his actions. First, pornography does not lead to adultery. Second, you don’t “become unfaithful,” you make a decision to cheat on your spouse. It’s not something that happens to you, it’s something you do – if yiu are so inclined.
“I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.”
UPDATE:Â Josh Duggar Blames Porn, Satan For Infidelity. Erases References To Porn, Satan. Internet Screams.
“I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust,” he states, assuming the “trust” has been restored.
“The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, I was hiding my own personal failings.”
Yes, over the last few years, Josh Duggar repeatedly and falsely stated that same-sex marriage and gay people cause the breakdown of the family. As it turns out, we don’t.
“As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose to our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example,” Duggar, who is 27, states.Â
“I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time.”
Today, Right Wing Watch published a list of five times Duggar falsely attacked gay people and same-sex marriage as “an ‘attack’ on the family, children, ‘Christian values,’ freedom of speech and even the U.S. economy.”
