UPDATED: Amazon, Sears, And eBay Join Walmart In Purging Confederate Flag Merchandise

The nation’s top retailers are joining the movement to stop the promotion of the Confederate flag, a symbol of hated, racism, and oppression.

Ever since photos surfaced last week of the 21-year old white nationalist who shot to death nine members of a Charleston Black church, waving the Confederate flag, that icon has become toxic. The governor of South Carolina is calling for its removal from the State House, the governor of Virginia wants it off license plates, a top Mississippi lawmaker wants it off the state flag, Walmart yesterday stopped selling it, and now two more top retailers are joining in.

Amazon.com, Sears, and eBay today have announced they will stop selling all Confederate flag merchandise, according to CNNPolitics & CNNMoney reporter MJ Lee.

And a just-published report at Reuters confirms all three retailers are pulling Confederate flag products.
