‘I’m Proud Of You!’ Hillary Clinton Tells Gay Iowa Parent At Local Diner (Video)

Watch as Hillary Clinton has coffee and chats with a few folks in Iowa, one of whom is a gay parent.

Nearing the end of a busy week during which now Hillary Clinton has given the country a good idea of what her campaign is going to look like, the Democratic presidential candidate sat down for coffee with a few Iowans at a local Council Bluffs diner.

The video below, released and tweeted by the Clinton campaign today, shows several women and one man, who says he was very glad to hear Clinton ask the U.S. Supreme Court to find a constitutional right for same-sex couples to marry.

“That’s our gal,” he says, thanking Clinton.

The man then talks about how he and his partner years ago adopted a young girl who apparently had special needs. He says they were told she would never graduate high school, but today she has a bachelors degree and is teaching in a local school.

“I’m real proud of her,” the man tells Clinton.

“I’m proud of you!,” Clinton responds.

Clinton is definitely trumpeting her support of same-sex marriage and civil rights for LGBT people. Her campaign announcement video released this past weekend featured two same-sex couples (and a cute puppy.)
