‘I’m Proud Of You!’ Hillary Clinton Tells Gay Iowa Parent At Local Diner (Video)

Watch as Hillary Clinton has coffee and chats with a few folks in Iowa, one of whom is a gay parent.

Nearing the end of a busy week during which now Hillary Clinton has given the country a good idea of what her campaign is going to look like, the Democratic presidential candidate sat down for coffee with a few Iowans at a local Council Bluffs diner.

The video below, released and tweeted by the Clinton campaign today, shows several women and one man, who says he was very glad to hear Clinton ask the U.S. Supreme Court to find a constitutional right for same-sex couples to marry.

“That’s our gal,” he says, thanking Clinton.

The man then talks about how he and his partner years ago adopted a young girl who apparently had special needs. He says they were told she would never graduate high school, but today she has a bachelors degree and is teaching in a local school.

“I’m real proud of her,” the man tells Clinton.

“I’m proud of you!,” Clinton responds.

Clinton is definitely trumpeting her support of same-sex marriage and civil rights for LGBT people. Her campaign announcement video released this past weekend featured two same-sex couples (and a cute puppy.)

‘That’s a 9/11’: US Coronavirus Deaths Just Surged to 3000 – Americans React

Overnight coronavirus deaths in the U.S. surged, increasing by 565 to over 3000. There have now been 3148 coronavirus deaths in America, as the total number of confirmed cases grew by almost 20,000 to 163,479.

Americans are struggling to grasp what lies ahead. On Monday coronavirus task force coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx revealed the federal government now predicts the best case scenario will be 100,000 to 200,000 COVID-19 deaths.

President Trump declared if the number comes in at 100,000 he will have done “a very good job.”

Here’s how some are reacting to today’s devastating news.

‘Read Our Bibles’: Coronavirus Press Briefing Goes Off the Rails as My Pillow Founder Showers Religious Praise on Trump

For weeks President Donald Trump has been holding daily campaign and pep rallies masquerading as public service coronavirus press briefings, but Monday’s event went even further off the rails as the President invited business leaders to push their products and efforts to address the nation’s dire medical and supply shortages and virus mitigation efforts.

One of the president’s invited guests, the 58-year old Christian conservative founder of the My Pillow company, took full advantage of the presidential podium in the Rose Garden to advance his religious and political agenda.

“God gave us grace on November 8, 2016, to change the course we were on,” Mike Lindell, declaring Trump’s election as being from God, said to the nation during the nationally-televised program. “God had been taken out of our schools and lives, a nation had turned its back on God. I encourage you to use this time at home to get back in the word. Read our Bibles and spend time with our families.”

“Our president gave us so much hope just a few short months ago we had the best economy, the lowest unemployment, and wages going up. It was amazing. With our great president, vice president, and this administration and all the great people in the country praying daily, we will get through this and back to a place that’s stronger and safer than ever,” Lindell declared.

Trump told reporters he did not know Lindell was going to do that “but he’s a friend of mine.”

The President also praised Lindell, saying: “Boy do you sell those pillows.”

TRUMP'S LYING PEOPLE ARE DYING

Trump Tells Governors No One’s Told Him There’s Been a Coronavirus Test Problem ‘In Weeks’

Montana Gov. Steve Bullock told the President “we don’t have adequate tests,” during a call with Trump and state governors Monday,  The New York Times reports, noting that Trump claimed the lack of tests was no longer a problem. The lack of tests has been a problem since day one.

“I haven’t heard about testing in weeks,” Trump responded. “We’ve tested more now than any nation in the world,” he added, which is false on a per capita basis.

“We’ve got these great tests and we’re coming out with a faster one this week,” the President said, adding: “I haven’t heard about testing being a problem.”

CBS News adds that Trump also claimed, “we’ll come out with another one tomorrow that’s, you know, almost instantaneous testing.”

There is no proof of that currently.

One of the biggest problems since coronavirus was first discovered in China was the U.S.’s disastrous handling of testing. For reasons that have yet to make sense the CDC decided to not use the World Health Organization’s test, and to develop and manufacture one on their own. Which subsequently did not work. On top of that President Donald Trump purposely did not push for more tests to be acquired and conducted because he thought lower numbers would help him get re-elected.

It’s not a stretch to say the total mismanagement and even Trump’s deliberate decision to not push to test will end up costing thousands, or even hundreds of thousands more lives.

All along the way President trump has lied about tests.

For instance, after weeks of national, public outrage, Trump declared on March 7 there were enough tests for anyone in the country who wanted one to have one.

That was a lie.

Two weeks later, more testing questions. Americans were told by March 28 there would be “well over 27 million tests” available. Clearly, that was a lie.

Here’s a roundup of Trump’s testing lies:

And now, Trump lies about not hearing any problems with Americans getting tested.
