Dr. James Dobson, a veteran anti-gay activist, thinks if marriage equality becomes the law nationwide, the U.S. will devolve into a civil war.Â
From 1861-1865, the United States of America fought the Civil War, leaving up to an estimated 850,000 dead.Â
On a recent conference call, Focus on the Family’s founder Dr. James Dobson announced that if the U.S. Supreme Court finds a right in the Constitution for same-sex couples to adopt, America will fight a similar civil war.
“Talk about a Civil War, we could have another one over this,” Dobson told anti-gay activist Janet Porter, Mat Staver of the Liberty Counsel, Rick Scarborough of Vision America, and Peter LaBarbera of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality.
“The country can be no stronger than its families,” Dobson said later, as Right Wing Watch reports. “I really believe if what the Supreme Court is about to do is carried through with, and it looks like it will be, then we’re going to see a general collapse in the next decade or two. I just am convinced of that. So we need to do everything we can to try to hold it back and to preserve the institution of marriage.”
Today, there are about ten times the number of people in the U.S., so, were Dr. Dobson correct, a similar civil war would net, presumably, 8.5 million deaths – likely more, given our lust for weaponry today.

Watch: Trump Declares Himself ‘The Chosen One’
President Trump just stood on the White House lawn, looked up at the sky, and declared himself “the chosen one,” mere hours after tweeting out a quote calling him “the second coming of God” and “the King of Israel.”
The American president delivered his messianic remarks while speaking to reporters about his trade war with China.
Several reporters tweeted out his comments.
What a moment.
President Trump on the WH lawn just looked up to the sky and said, “I am the chosen one.”
He was talking about the trade war with China and repeated his claim that he needs to take on China for unfair trading practice.

Trump May Soon Find Himself Battling 5 Republicans for Re-Election – They Could Help Democrats Win the White House
A same-party primary challenge against a sitting president is not unheard of. Five members of a sitting president’s party would be extraordinary.
Currently, only former Massachusetts governor Bill Weld has officially declared he is running for the Republican nomination for president.
But as The Washington Post just reported, there are four more Republicans in the wings, “inching” closer to declaring their candidacies.
Former Tea Party Congressman Joe Walsh, whose journey over the past year has found him moving from disturbing support for Trump to joining the anti-Trump camp (while occasionally offering up some common sense takes on current issues,) is among the four. He “is preparing a Republican primary challenge to President Trump that he previewed as a daily ‘bar fight’ with the incumbent over his morality and competency.”
Former South Carolina governor and congressman Mark Sanford, who lost his seat after he criticized Trump and the president’s machine went into action against him, “said he is inching closer to a bid of his own by sounding out activists in New Hampshire and other early-voting states about an insurgency focused on the ballooning deficit.”
Former Arizona senator Jeff Flake, who was also the target of the Trump machine, “said he has taken a flurry of recruitment calls in recent days from GOP donors rattled by signs of an economic slowdown and hungry for an alternative to Trump.”
Former Ohio governor John Kasich, who ran for president in the 2016 primaries and earned The New York Times’ endorsement for the GOP nomination, “will head to New Hampshire next month to ‘take a look at things’ after experiencing ‘an increase’ in overtures this summer.”
While the chances of any Republican winning the Republican nomination over Trump are slim, primary challengers take up a campaign’s time, money, energy, and focus, and that can help the opposing party unseat an incumbent.
For example, in 1992 Pat Buchanan’s primary challenge against sitting President George H.W. Bush led to the 41st president losing the White House to then-governor Bill Clinton. In 1980 Senator Ted Kennedy challenged sitting Democratic President Jimmy Carter, helping put Ronald Reagan into the Oval Office.
As Business Insider noted in May, “Throughout the 20th century, sitting presidents who faced challenges from within their own party went on to lose in the general election after being severely weakened.”
‘Was Goebbels Unavailable?’: ABC Blasted for ‘Normalizing Fascism’ by Putting Sean Spicer on Dancing With the Stars
“Remember when Spicer talked about ‘Holocaust centers’ and defended Hitler, saying he didn’t use chemical weapons?”
Disney and ABC Television must have known that putting former Trump press secretary Sean Spicer on “Dancing With the Stars” would draw condemnation, but the outrage over the just-announced news is palpable.
Spicer will go down in history for the massive lies he told, starting with his vicious and attacking falsehoods about the size of the crowd at President Donald Trump’s inauguration. The lies seemed to continue daily, only to be outdone by, at one point, Spicer actually appearing to defend Hitler for not gassing his people – which he clearly did.
Spicer appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Wednesday to join in the announcement that he’ll be among the “stars” to dance on the 14-year old primetime reality TV show. One of the co-hosts of the show, popularly known as just “DWTS,” made a joke of Spier’s day one lies:
— Good Morning America (@GMA) August 21, 2019
Spicer’s lies are so ingrained in the Trump administration’s history they even appear in the Mueller report.
On Spicer’s exit from the Trump White House The New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza wrote: “Sean Spicer Will Be Remembered for His Lies.”
Many are furious that ABC is “normalizing” a “pathological liar” and normalizing fascism by placing him on national television in a reality TV show.
Take a look:
S. SPICER: Hitler didn’t even sink to the level of using chemical weapons… he was not using the gas on his own people
NETWORK EXECS: Can you dance, though?
— Eric Rauchway (@rauchway) August 21, 2019
tee hee, get it, cause he turned a taxpayer-funded position into a propaganda arm, lying to our faces every single day in order to aid a white supremacist administration, hilarious!
— Gabe Ortíz (@TUSK81) August 21, 2019
Intentionally and gleefully lying to the American public is not something to joke about. Disgusting.

Was Joseph Goebbels unavailable?
— Daniel Malmer (@danielmalmer) August 21, 2019
I’m old enough to remember when Sean Spicer said Hitler didn’t use chemical weapons on his own people and then when backtracking called concentration camps “Holocaust centers”.
Not a good look ABC. pic.twitter.com/RFMMpFAyUC

Remember when Spicer talked about ‘Holocaust centers’ and defended Hitler, saying he didn’t use chemical weapons? That should have had actual repercussions. And should now too. https://t.co/jDWSTX8OdR

None of this is funny. This man knowingly and blatantly lied to the American people in his official capacity as a government servant of the people. He helped create the atrocity that is still in office. Shame on ABC.
— Amanda Hammar (@AHammar_esq) August 21, 2019
Nicely done, Tom!
But I’d be more impressed if you walked out of hosting this season to boycott his selection.
— Sean Ryland (@sean_ryland) August 21, 2019
it’s funny because his job was to help a dangerous psychopath constantly lie to the country

This is a seriously bad look on @DancingABC for casting this man.

Why is DWTS promoting a pathological liar?#BoycottDWTS
— Elizabeth Squires (@esquires1215) August 21, 2019
you know how you sit in history class learning (hopefully they teach u) about the Holocaust and various genocides and you think “how on earth do good ppl let this happen?” When Spicer showed up on the Emmy’s was the first time I really truly understood how.
— Christine Nangle (@nanglish) August 21, 2019
I am a super loyal @dancingabc viewer who will not be watching this season. #DWTS is about growth, fun, escapism — and Sean Spicer and the Trump Administration are what we need to escape from. This is so disappointing. https://t.co/Rh1rCQA6gP
