‘Open Carry’ Gun Advocate Allegedly Kills Two Family Members Before Driving To Mental Hospital

A Texas woman who belonged to an “open carry” gun advocacy group is under arrest after she allegedly killed her husband and his daughter.

According to multiple reports, 35-year old Veronica Dunnachie was arrested yesterday for allegedly killing her husband and his daughter, before she drove to a mental hospital. Dunnachie is an avid gun lover, has multiple photos of herself with and shooting assault rifles and guns on her Facebook page, and is a member of an open-carry gun advocacy group that’s been in the news several times, Open Carry Tarrant.

This is one of the images from what is believed to be her Faceboook page.

“Officials said they were treating the slayings as a domestic homicide,” the Dallas Morning News reports, adding that Dunnachie “faces a charge of capital murder.”

According to an affidavit, Dunnachie called a friend and said she’d shot and killed her husband, Russell Dunnachie, and his adult daughter from a previous relationship,” Raw Story reports.

Dunnachie reportedly was separated from her husband and filed for divorce in October. She has three minor children with her now-deceased husband. The children reportedly were not harmed. What, if anything, led up to the alleged murder is unknown. Local news reports state Dunnachie could face the death penalty.

This image, found by Raw Story, allegedly of Dunnachie, was posted to Open Carry Tarrant’s Facebook page. It has since become unavailable. It reads, “Momma didn’t raise no victim!”

“Conceal carry stops crime, open carry prevents it,” Open Carry Tarrant claims on Facebook.

The New Civil Rights Movement also reported on Open Carry Tarrant in May.
