‘Smells Like A Trend’: Fox News Links White House Fence Jumper To Benghazi
Is anyone surprised that Fox News has now linked the recent White House fence jumping incident to Benghazi?
A Fox News co-host today decided to link the White House fence jumping incident to Benghazi. On Friday, an Iraq war veteran with PTSD allegedly jumped the White House fence and made it into the White House before Secret Service agents subdued him.
On Fox News’ “Outnumbered” today, panelist Harris Faulkner led the group, including noted anti-Islamist Andrea Tantaros, into this discussion:
FAULKNER: Pete, you have protected assets. And so my curiosity lies in this. Forty-two-year-old Omar Gonzalez, this ex-war vet, may have done us a favor.
PETE HEGSETH: Maybe, yeah. In that we recognize the vulnerability — You know who else is doing us a favor, in that sense, is the propaganda coming from ISIS declaring their true intentions.

I mean here’s my thing. Peter King’s right. He could have had a vest on. You’re absolutely right. Motives of these people are always in question. I just always get more concerned, kind of — this is just my civil libertarian streak inside me — that we’re now going to have zones and zones of more screening and more checking. I think there’s a way to secure this without it turning into a fortress around the White House.
FAULKNER: So Andrea, I couldn’t help but let my mind just flow to something else. Another asset that we didn’t protect — the U.S. outpost in Benghazi, Libya. I don’t want to say that this is a trend, but smells like it.
ANDREA TANTAROS: Well, I think you bring up a great point about it being a lesson learned.
