Prosecutor Of Accused Hate Crime Murderer Of NYC’s Mark Carson Plays Tough

The Assistant District Attorney prosecuting the man charged with the hate crime murder of a New York City man he allegedly called a “faggot” is playing hardball.

On May 17, 2013, Mark Carson was shot to death at point-bank range with a silver .38 in Greenwich Village, after allegedly being called a “faggot” by his murderer. That night he became the fifth victim of a violent New York City hate crime in just two weeks, and the 22nd victim of an anti-gay attack that year, according to the NYPD.

Carson’s accused killer, Elliot Morales, now 33-years old, reportedly laughed as he told police, “I shot him in the face.”

Now, after dismissing his court appointed attorneys, Morales reportedly has a new one, and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office is letting the public know they’re going to play hardball — promising no plea deals will be made.

“I can assure you there is not now or will there ever be an offer made to this gentleman regarding this case,” Assistant District Attorney Joan Iluzzi-Orbon said last week at a Manhattan Supreme Court hearing, the New York Post reports.

The Post adds that Morales is an “ex-con.”
