Mike Huckabee Pleads With Australia To Stop Canceling Anti-Gay Hate Group Conference Venues

Published

Mike Huckabee joins 79 other religious leaders in pleading with Australia to stop canceling venues for the international conference of a U.S. based anti-gay hate group’s conference, slated to start Saturday.

The World Congress of Families is a purveyor of ideologies so right-wing they weren’t even popular a century ago. A certified anti-gay hate group,  the WCF exists to “affirm that the natural human family is established by the Creator and essential to good society.” They say their “purpose” is to “defend the family and to guide public policy and cultural norms” on all of these issues: “divorce, devaluation of parenting, declining family time, morally relativistic public education, confusions over sexual identity, promiscuity, sexually transmitted diseases, abortion, poverty, human trafficking, violence against women, child abuse, isolation of the elderly, excessive taxation and below-replacement fertility.”

Clearly, they’re very busy people.

In short, they’re an Illinois based anti-gay, anti-women hate group that recently has applauded Vladimir Putin’s war on gay people.

One of their international conferences starts this weekend, and the WCF’s leaders are even busier than usual.

On top of finding solutions to “confusions over sexual identity” and other “problems,” they are now scrambling to find a venue in Australia that won’t cancel on them.

Three already have.

“After two venue changes so far, the Conference is now scheduled to happen at Brunswick’s Aurora Receptions,” Same Same reports.

And, unfortunately for the World Congress of Families, Brunswick’s Aurora Receptions just canceled on them too.

So flustered are they that, as Buzzfeed Australia reports, the World Congress of Families published a letter explaining that they’re just innocent victims of  “unremitting and grossly misleading attacks” by “sexual radicals” who have “launched a smear campaign” against them.

And who has signed on to this open letter to the good people of Australia?

80 religious zealots in total. Among those from the U.S.:

Former GOP Governor of Arkansas and Fox News host Mike Huckabee.

Also, National Organization For Marriage President Brian Brown.

Barbwire founder Matt Barber.

Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman, of the anti-gay hate group, Liberty Counsel.

Tom Delay, former Republican Majority Leader, U.S. House of Representatives.

And several other anti-gay leaders.

On Saturday there is a pro-equality Day of Action scheduled to “Give the World Congress of Families the welcome they deserve!”

‘I Swear, These People’: WH Chief of Staff Blasted for Not Wearing a Mask After Being Close to COVID-Positive President

Published

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows just concluded a press briefing from outside the White House. His remarks are being criticized, after he refused to give any information about President Donald Trump’s health after testing positive for coronavirus, refusing to discuss a timeline of the president’s travels and contacts, and refusing to wear a mask.

Presidential historian Michael Beschloss issued criticism of Meadows.

Here’s Meadows refusing to give the American people any accounting of the president’s actions.

Meadows is also being roundly blasted after being in close proximity to President Donald Trump: Meadows wore no mask. (He was also in close proximity to Counselor to the President Hope Hicks, who tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday. Meadows claims Hicks was not tested until Thursday, which contradicts every report.)

Meadows, who on Sept. 16 predicted a coronavirus vaccine “potentially by the end of September,” clearly has little understanding of the science of transmission, incubation, infection, and testing. He told reporters he did not need to wear a mask because he has been tested.

U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) rightly notes Meadows should be self-quarantining right now, not talking to reporters.

Many are outraged.

The White House Tried to Hide That Hope Hicks Tested Positive for Coronavirus

Published

Counselor to the President Hope Hicks has tested positive for coronavirus, and the White House tried to hide that from the American people.

It’s also possible the White House tried to hide that President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump had tested positive, at least for as long as possible.

The only reason the American people found out that Hicks, who has been in contact with scores of administration officials over the past week, is a report by Bloomberg News reporter Jennifer Jacobs.

This was the moment America learned of Hicks’ coronavirus status: 8:09 PM · Oct 1, 2020.

“White House officials had hoped to keep the news about Ms. Hicks from becoming public, to no avail,” The New York Times reported early Friday morning.

“Only a very small circle of people knew that Hicks had tested positive, and senior staff had hoped to keep that information private, two of the people said,” Bloomberg reported.

Talking Points Memo editor and CNN White House Correspondent:

“Some of Trump’s closest aides said they sensed on Wednesday that Trump was feeling poorly but they chalked it up to fatigue from an intense campaign schedule,” Bloomberg added. “The president seemed exhausted, one person familiar with the situation said.”

Hicks tested positive Wednesday. Jacobs reported the news Thursday evening. There’s at least 24 hours where the White House was silent about Hicks.

Worse, President Trump maintained his schedule after the White House – and possibly the president – learned of Hick’s status. He even traveled to Bedminster, New Jersey for a fundraiser.

Even after news broke of Hicks’ positive test the White House tried to pretend all was well. The White House press office sent out Trump’s official daily schedule for Friday at 10:05 PM. It showed a normal day, and even travel to Florida for a rally.

It was not until 12:54 AM Friday that Trump announced he and the First Lady had tested positive. It’s hard to believe Trump did not have a coronavirus test immediately after the White House learned about Hicks.
