Top Anti-Gay Group Calls For Boycott Of All Public Schools After DC Principal Comes Out
Tony Perkins is calling for all parents to boycott public schools by removing their children from them and placing them in “other alternatives.†The Family Research Council president made the suggestion after a 50-year old principal of a local Washington, D.C. high school this week announced to his students at a school-sponsored gay pride celebration that he is gay.

Perkins lamented on his daily “Washington Watch†radio program that Principal Pete Cahall (image, center) came out “as a homosexual, and that was celebrated — the school district tweeted it out.â€
“Eighty-three percent of the students coming out of the District of Columbia are not proficient in reading skills, but they know how to celebrate gay pride,†Perkins cried. “As we drop further and further in the global ranking of math and science scores, at least our kids will understand sex-ed. Amazing.â€
“If you have your children in public schools, unless you’re in a district where you know exactly what’s going on in some rural part of the country where values are still embraced, you really need to think about whether or not you want to expose your kids to what’s happening in our public school system. I would encourage you to look for other alternatives.â€
Listen:
Perkins, who is the head of a certified anti-gay hate group, is actually — albeit unknowingly — advocating for an environment that fosters heightened suicide attempts by children regardless of their orientation.
A landmark Columbia University 2011 study found that children who are raised in conservative environments, like the one Perkins is advocating, are far more likely to attempt suicide than children raised in more progressive environments.
