Ginni Thomas Hosts Activist Who Attacks Obama For ‘Tyranny’ (Video)
Ginni Thomas is a well-connected and well-funded Tea Party activist. She also happens to be the wife of highly-controversial and highly-conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Of course, she has every right to her own career and to not be chained to her husband’s — nor to be identified as solely his spouse — but she also often creates tremendous conflicts of interest for her husband, who theoretically is supposed to remain impartial on cases such as abortion, same-sex marriage, religion, and this country’s president.
But Ginni Thomas doesn’t care — and she’s reportedly made an estimated $1.6 million as a conservative activist. That’s one reason why so often people demand that her husband recuse himself from court cases — Hobby Lobby being one excellent example. In 2011, seventy-four members of Congress demanded he recuse himself from the upcoming Obamacare case. He did not. He never has, and there’s no legal means to force him to do so.
When conservatives whine about “activist judges,” they never point the finger at their own, yet here’s an excellent example of Thomas’s undue influence.
Ginni Thomas recorded this interview with well-known anti-choice activist Lila Rose, who got her own start by working with Breitbart protégé and conservative activist James O’Keefe.
“Years from now when history books are written about this culture, what are they going to see, and how do we stop the erosion?,” Thomas asks Rose.
“This idea that the government is secular and we have our faith over here,” Rose moves her arms, gesturing. “No. Secular is somehow saying there’s no God, there’s no higher power, there’s no higher law,†Rose tells Thomas. “You can’t say that because then when you have a tyrant in power – which you often, sadly, do – and I believe there’s aspects of tyranny in who you have in power now – then whole groups of people, their rights are not respected, their rights are not protected and you have human rights abuses.â€
Notice that Lila Rose says, “I believe there’s aspects of tyranny in who you have in power now.” Not “we,” but “you,” as if she doesn’t recognize that Barack Obama is her president too.
But that’s the least of it.
Over 80 percent of this country self-identifies as religious, and almost all of that 80 percent or more, as Christian.
What rights of Christians “are not respected” today in America? What rights of Christians “are not protected” today in America? What “human rights abuses” of Christians exist today in America?
