‘Christians Against Homosexuality’ March For Gays ‘To Come To Jesus And Get Corrected’

Last month in India, the Supreme Court reinstated a 153-year old law banning gay sex — effectively making being gay illegal. While some politicians are reportedly trying to make homosexuality, and gay sex legal, some Christians in the world’s largest democracy are working feverishly to ensure being gay is a crime.
Yesterday, dozens, possibly up to 150 supporters of an Indian group called Christians Against Homosexuality, marched in support of Section 377, the re-instated law that makes homosexual sex illegal. The group, headed by an Indian lawmaker named Brother C Umashankar, is opposing lawmakers’ attempts to makes same-sex relations and relationships legal. One of their posters advertising the march reads:
“We don’t hate homosexuals. We want them to come to Jesus and get corrected.”
Marchers yesterday “descended on the beach armed with placards and leaflets putting denouncing homosexuality as a ‘raging disease in the West’ and said ‘Westerners are ready to shell out any amount to have anal sex with Indian Children,’ reports Gay Star News.
Gay Star News asked Umashankar if his views were inciting hate.
He said: ‘We love people we don’t hate them, we hate the sin of homosexuality.’
Ironically, Christians make up only about two-percent of India’s population. It’s also important to note that many LGBTQ people are, in fact, Christians.
