White House Reporter Links Pedophilia Cases To Gays, Attacks Gay Groups For Silence
A long-time White House “reporter” is linking the recent pedophilia cases, like Penn State and the L.A. schoolteachers to homosexuality, and is attacking gay rights organizations for not speaking out against these cases. In “Homosexual Groups AWOL On Child Abuse,” reputation-damaged writer and Anglican minister Les Kinsolving falsely equates homosexuality with pedophilia.
Les Kinsolving is also a Maryland-based political talk radio host and columnist at birther-King Joseph Farah’s World Net Daily, and is woefully ignorant about homosexuality and pedophilia. His journalistic credibility was severely damaged when it was reported he had accepted thousands of dollars worth of stock in exchange for writing positive stories about South Africa under apartheid, according to Wikipedia.
Foreign Policy, a 42-year old magazine published by the Washington Post, labels Kinsolving an “all-around crazy person.”
And then there’s this.
“Kinsolving has a longtime obsession with homosexuality,” Media Matters wrote in 2010, and added, about a DADT ruling:
Kinsolving denounces the idea that the judge would “force the acceptance of openly announced buggers into the barracks,†writes that it is a “very dangerous and disease-ridden judicial decision,†and adds: “The recruitment of self-announced homosexuals would also cause a major medical problem given the sexual orientation’s high rates of AIDS and syphilis.â€
The problem with ignorance, even from outlets as yellow and disreputable as World Net Daily, is that many right wing politicians and radical conservatives regularly read these WND dispatches, which just perpetuates the falsehoods and myths people like Kinsolving produce.
Writing about Maryland’s recent passage of same-sex marriage, Kinsolving ignorantly and falsely launches right into false statements about gays, and then makes the false equation between homosexuality and pedophilia, chastising gay rights groups for not speaking out about pedophilia cases in the news.
“I am also not aware of any expressed homosexual organizational concern about the sex-abuse cases that have put Los Angeles schools under fire and resulted in nationwide coverage in the New York Times.
“Almost every edition of the New York Times contains news about, columns featuring and editorials supporting the acceptance of homosexual behavior and same-sex marriage.
“But in the Times’ extensive Page One story on Feb. 17, headlined ‘Abuse Cases Put L.A. Schools Under Fire,’ there was not one word of comment from any of the numerous homosexual organizations whose various pronouncements are so often given prominence by the New York Times.”
For gay rights groups to issue press releases about pedophilia cases in the news would be like the a consortium of tee-shirt manufacturers to issue a press release on the weather.
“Ladies and gentlemen, have any of you ever seen from any of the many militant homosexual organizations any comments at all on these arrests on charges of homosexual pedophilia?,” Kinsolving writes, adding, “I haven’t, and I believe that is outrageous.”
Well, Mr. Kinsolving, now you have.
I reached out to Michael Cole-Schwartz, Director of Communications for the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) who offered this response to Kinsolving’s op-ed and anyone else who falsely equates homosexuality with pedophilia:
“These groups know full well that no one condones child abuse but they’re perfectly willing to exploit victims in an effort to conflate sexual orientation with abuse. Their tactics and rhetoric are offensive to the millions of Americans who know and love a gay person.â€
It’s time for ignorant Americans, after the tragedies of the Penn State abuse cases, the Los Angeles teachers case, the Catholic Church’s pedophile priests rape and molestation cases, and every other case of pedophilia, to stop linking pedophilia with homosexuality.
The fact that pedophilia is a mental disorder but homosexuality is not seems to conveniently evade these charlatans. And the fact that homosexuals are no more likely to abuse children or to be pedophiles than heterosexuals is conveniently lost on people like Kinsolving and his ilk.
