Toys R Us Meets Boycott Demands By Selling Out Of Gay Archie Comic Books
The fake “One Million Moms” group this week demanded that multi-billion-dollar retailer Toys R Us remove all of their Archie comic books from store shelves because it featured a male gay character getting married to another male gay character has finally had one successful campaign! Yes, Toys R Us has met the demands of the American Family Association’s fundraising and email harvesting operation, One Million Moms, by selling every single copy of “Life with Archie #16,” whose cover (above) features the two men and a sing that reads, “Just Married.”
One Million Moms, which has never offered any proof of their numbers, although they have about 40,000 “likes” on Facebook, demanded Toys R Us remove the comic books, or else! No doubt the 1600+ stores retailer which is now private but last reported sales of $13.646 billion was really, really worried about a boycott by 40,000 or so desperate housewives.
Except, they weren’t.
“Riverdale is a safe, welcoming place that does not judge anyone. It’s an idealised version of America that will hopefully become reality someday,” said Archie Comics co-CEO John Goldwater:
“We’re sorry the American Family Association/OneMillionMoms.com feels so negatively about our product, but they have every right to their opinion, just like we have the right to stand by ours. Kevin Keller will forever be a part of Riverdale, and he will live a happy, long life free of prejudice, hate and narrow-minded people.”
Pure awesome.
Oh, and as far as the SPLC-certified anti-gay American Family Association, which is also home to virulently bigoted homophobe Bryan Fischer, and their embarrassing transparent email harvesting fundraising machines, One Million Moms and One Million Dads are concerned, tell us, after the huge jump in publicity and sales JC Penney got from yur boycott, and the selling out of this Archie comic, what exactly do you think you’re doing.
Please, One Million Moms and Dads, boycott The New Civil Rights Movement! We’d love the traffic!
